PhotoGraphic technologies has posted a review of ImageNest version 1.1. Extensive testing was done on our automatic arrangement technology and it has been compared head to head with ImagePrint. Check it out !

Version 1.1 released

We are happy to announce that version 1.1 has been released and can be downloaded in our new downloads sections (On the main page menu). Version 1.1 contains a ton of new features and is 100% free to all users. Major new features are: PDF, EPS, and PostScript support, New fitting algorithm that improves the number of images that can fit on a page, Delete all button (one of our most requested new features), Duplicate (our second most requested feature), and Roll Length optimization. Roll length optimization will automatically resize your page at print time to remove any white space at the bottom. This way, users can utilize any page size they wish and not worry about any un-used area. This is especially helpful on roll paper.

Keep the feedback coming. We want to hear the features that you most want next. We plan to introduce new features in our next version due out in 3 or 4 months.

Deleting Preferences Prior to installing a new version

It is always a very good idea to delete your preferences file before installing a new version. To do this go to user (your user name)/library/preferences and delete the file named com.bluecubit.ImageNest.plist This will not delete your serial number and when installing a new version it will not be necessary to re-enter your serial number.

Version 1.1 will be available this week.

New features currently in testing

PDF, EPS, and PostScript file support, Step and repeat (duplicate), New and much improved nesting algorithm, RAW auto DPI setting, are all currently in testing and we plan on a June release of all these features.

ImageNest version 1.1 is currently in beta and release is planed for late May or early June. The update adds support for nesting PostScript®, EPS, PDF, and Multi-Page PDF files. With this update, ImageNest will become a full PostScript RIP supporting almost every file format in use today– including many formats such as RAW, HDR, PSD, and DNG that few if any other RIP’s support. This update will be 100% free to all existing customers.

HP Z 3100 and HP Z 6100 leopard driver configuration

To set up your HP Z series Leopard driver correctly first make sure you have “Printer Manages Color” set as the default in your ImageNest preferences. The first settings to configure when in the print dialog is the “Color Matching setting. Once configured remember that all settings can be saved under “Presets”.

Instant Contact Sheets

ImageNest can instantly make contact sheets of any size, with images of any size automatically and one great usage of this feature is Contact sheets. In the below example the following settings where used. All of the images where different sizes until dropped into ImageNest where they where automatically resized and fitted to the page. Users can select any image size and any page size they wish for their contact sheets.
