Epson Driver Preferences: Printer Settings

Page Setup: The page setup not only effects what style of media you are printing on but also the options available in other dialogs. If a user wishes a roll to “Autosize” based on the number of images sent the only option that allows this is “Roll Paper - Banner. All other options will not stop printing at the end of the last image.

Media Type: The media type setting controls the internal Color look up table (Which will contain linearization, ink limit and total ink limit) that the driver will use in conjunction with an ICC profile. If you are using a custom profile pick an Epson media that is as close as possible to the media you are using. Most third party medias will specify what media type setting was used when creating a custom profile.

Color Mode: Always should be set to Off (No Color Management) This refers to any additional adjustments that can be made in the Epson Driver rather the color management as a whole. When using an ICC workflow it should always be set to off.

All other Printer Settings: All other settings can be made according to user preference. They will not effect color. These settings will differ from printer model to printer model. All settings may not be available on all models.

Epson Driver Preferences: Roll Paper Setting

In order to use the “Save Roll Paper” setting the paper type in the “Page Setup” dialog must be set to Roll paper - Banner. The “Save Roll Paper” setting will optimize page length based on the total area of an image layout rather than the page size. If, for example, a page size on 24 inches by 100 inches is selected in ImageNest and a 24 inch by 10 inch image is printed, the 100 inch page length will automatically be re-sized to 10 inches in length. This enables users to use the same page size for a variety of different jobs without wasting paper.
