ImageNest RIP and Canon Printers: The ImageNest RIP is compatible with all models of Canon printers that run on Mac OSX 10.4 or higher. Below are several different dialogs of ImageNest and the Canon Print Driver. Different models of Canon Printers have slightly different dialogs but the dialogs below should be consistent on all Canon models. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

ImageNest Input/Source ICC Profile Preferences:

Default Source Profiles: The selections in this dialog only take effect if your image does not have an embedded profile. RGB, CMYK, and Gray images all must be in a ColorSpace to be printed properly. If an image is opened in ImageNest without a embedded profile ImageNest must assign one. The selection you make in the “Default Source Profiles” dialog will be used as the assigned profile.

Use embedded ICC Profiles (if Present): This should always be checked. Embedded profiles should always be respected. There are some specialty workflows in which a user may wish to turn off the “use embedded ICC profile” button but most users should always keep this button checked.

ImageNest output/destination ICC Profiles: There are two distinct methods for applying your printer/output/destination profile.

Printer Manages Colors: Printer manages colors is the only option if you are running OSX 10.4 or 10.5 This method uses ColorSync to apply your output profile.

ImageNest Manages Colors: ImageNest Manages Colors is available on on OSX 10.6 or above. When using ImageNest Manages Colors you will be applying your color management inside ImageNest. PDF, EPS, and PostScript files can not be managed this way as they are still in their vector format. If using these types of Images always use “Printer Manages Colors”.
